Rhubarb watching

I am sure I saw this growing!!
Last night I looked at it and it was still un-split in the membrane but today when I grab the camera to get that huge membrane covering my rhubarb what do I get 2 more stalks.

I've been making rhubarb and custard cake (BBC good food recipes) they are so nice but not everyone likes rhubarb.
