Vanilla and pecan…

… With buttermilk.
New to me too. (A recipe from the US).
I’m expecting house guests hence the baking.
I made two, so that we can try one, in case it’s awful.
Or not cooked! (That’s always my dread. To cut into a masterpiece, only for cake mixture to dribble out of the middle). It hasn’t happened (with guests!) yet).
