No Catch Today

An almost aborted boat trip out to an island offshore where the promise of puffins failed to materialise. Plenty of gannets though and the smell at the colony was overwhelming. I say almost aborted because after booking it began to rain, but then it stopped so the trip continued.

Although the views were spectacular, I chose this shot in the end. An old washed up lobster pot left to be overgrown. Maybe a new home for some unseen creature.

The ferryman said more rain was due and perhaps we would like to return half an hour early. All agreed as the boat was open, but as it turned out it stayed fine and we felt short changed.
