Birds....

..to the rescue! Another end-of-day search for an emergency blip and VOILA! The heron!  A little later? ...the loon! What more could one ask?

I spent the day not taking photos, but doing last-minute cleaning and laundry (which, being hung out on a nice windy day, of course, brought the rain)......a little selective CNN watching - in anticipation of a Trump mug shot...a little reading..and then...

My sister arrived by boat taxi, laden down with bags and bags and bags. which is typical.....We share the cottage in alternating two-week blocks and in case of not having a ride to town during that time, we have to be well stocked with food and supplies..I remember our dad, as he got older, complaining about how much lugging is involved in cottaging...especially a boat-access-only cottage...We now know of what he spoke! But once all that lugging and unpacking is done, and we get settled in for our stay, it all seems worth it....

We ended the day with some wine, a nice dinner and high hopes that my daughter and SIL will arrive after the weekend with a new hot water tank! That lake water is rather chilly for bathing these days - especially on a cold and windy day!
