Blackberry Picking

We picked loads, mostly Mike, and we all got scratched, I think. But they made a very juicy apple and blackberry crumble for dessert tonight.

Quite a few of us not feeling great, especially little Eden has had a fever and spits out the Calpol. They are safely back in Manchester, and hopefully she'll wake better.

Deb and I just watched Lady Bird, my third Greta Gerwig film. A moving look at the often fraught relationship between a daughter and her Mum, who love each other, but have trouble getting the relationship right.

Gratefuls:
- a walk with a wise friend, helping us think about the future
- making cacio e pepe for nine people, and it turning out fairly OK (much easier for two!)
- seeing the Newhall Valley heron, fleetingly
