Caught the train to cambridge to see A and A. Very easy journey - changing at Ely. Got off at Cambridge North. Its a new station which has only been open for a couple of years. It didn’t feel like Cambridge at all. Loved this statue on the front concourse. No label though. A picked me up and we drove the couple of miles to get to their house. It was lovely to see them but I did feel a little low afterwards. Anne in particular has been struggling with her health. She had a TIA a few months ago and it has significantly affected her vision in her right eye. In addition she has great difficulty walking and is on the waiting list for both knees to be replaced. She should have gone on the list a few years ago but was very reluctant .
Alan cooked a delicious lunch and it was just warm enough to sit in the garden. The train I was intending to catch was cancelled so I stayed for an extra hour and got home just before 8.
