Japanese anemones

Now all three colours of Japanese anemones are in flower and this year the pale pink one is actually pink rather than a washed out nearly white colour.  The dark pink flower has just been drenched in water from the hose, not rain!
The Japanese anemones may look well but the rowan tree looks a sorry sight.  I think that I already mentioned that it thought that Autumn had come in July and now it has no leaves at all.  It is difficult to tell whether or not the premature buds have life in them so we may have to wait until next Spring to know for sure.  In the meantime, two roses have died, one especially unexpected as it is reasonably young and had flowered profusely until about a month ago.
