Procambarus clarkii

Red American crayfish.
The red crayfish also disperse by covering distances over land, unlike the spotted American crayfish. This can have significant ecological effects, because isolated pools can also be reached in this way. The lobsters can then cause considerable damage to the vegetation and the growing amphibians in these pools. The lobsters are therefore regularly found on the street, sometimes in large numbers.
