Ludlow & Castle from a distance
We had a lot of rain again last night, and today on and off all day, showers, some very heavy. We stayed and relaxed at the caravan in the morning, then packed up a picnic and drove to the viewpoint overlooking Ludlow. There weren't any parking spots where we wanted to be, so we parked up a bit further along the road. It was still in the nature reserve and we were able to have our picnic sitting on a bench.
Then after lunch, we walked down a steep footpath, which brought us to the river and the foot of the castle. We went up to the town centre, and went into a different cafe for a cup of tea. Just in time, as the sky blackened and torrential rain ensued. When we left to walk back to the car, it was petering out and we retraced our steps, to find this lovely view. Difficult to get it all in, but you can't beat a town with a castle.
Back to the caravan for some reading (Jon) crochet (me - I'm still learning, so more granny squares!) Then we drove to Tenbury Wells to get an Indian takeaway for our dinner. Well, it is our last night.
Have done a bit of tidying up and packing away, but another downpour has meant the canopy is soaked and will have to stay up until the morning.
Going to try and get an earlier night tonight. Tomorrow aim to get on the road early, with our first stop Cottenham to celebrate my sister in laws 60th birthday, and hoping to find road space for us and the caravan near Jenny's!! I think that on a new estate- that might be challenging :-)
