Life on the Common

Brooding cloud overshadowed the Chailey Commons Society's Late Summer Walk on Memorial Common today. This one presaged only a heavy shower: the real downpour only began after the walk was concluded.

Wildlife seen on the walk (see today's 'Extras') included solitary specimens of a Common Field Grasshopper (Chorthippus brunneus) and a Large Red Slug (Arion rufus).
