Balzo termico

To move from 38.4c to a balmy 16c is ‘un balzo termico’ - a thermal leap. To then board the late afternoon Craignure ferry heading into a stiff NNW wind with thick cloud cover might be described as a ‘thermal collapse’. A t-shirt and cagoule might have sufficed for the Livorno-Sardinia crossing but they sure didn’t in the Sound of Mull. As I should have known if you stay on deck and enjoy the spectacle which of course we did.

Once on the back road to Dervaig all was delightfully well and decidedly more clement.

When we arrived at T’mor I lit the fire - in August! The Boss has done something horrible to her lower back and has been in a lot of pain. Hopefully it was not caused by the balzo termico. The view to Coll, the passing Herdies and Volterol and frozen peas helped somewhat and hopefully things will ease tomorrow.

It is lovely to be back at Treshnish.
