Nearly back at the start

Our bike ride was a circuit from Orton, with a coffee stop at the village store in Kirkby Thore (in sunshine) and lunch in Appleby (in rain).  The photo shows us outside the Dame School in Raisbeck (wearing windproofs now, rather than full raincoats, due to the vagaries of the weather).  The tiny school building was built in about 1780 by Yeoman farmers of Raisbeck and is open to the public; google says 'it is quietly advertised - a notice on the door says "Come in".
