Autumn colours in August

The Amelanchier has suddenly started to change colour, some leaves quite dramatically.
I really wanted to get outside and work in the garden which very badly needs some TLC but it has been a rather grey, damp day so it was good to have some distractions. 
The lovely Lucy came round to visit Bertie today, bringing A with her. Later in the day there was a planning meeting for a future community orchard event. What started as a harvest celebration in September evolved into a Halloween fun event at the end of October because too many key people have plans to be away during September. We did think about the vagaries of the weather but decided that we can cope, whatever it throws at us (although we might have to cancel if a hurricane comes our way!) ………. I hope I haven’t tempted fate there!
