Indoor pursuits
At Sue’s house: very hot outside with unhealthy air, and I have a migraine that is refusing to respond to the pills. A good day for indoor pursuits. Sue brought home an old piece of junk furniture and set to work painting it in shades of pink, making it a canvas for some face-stamps she has fashioned. I searched up some images of the Bloomsbury group’s painted furniture, but Sue was more interested in her own ideas. The stamping method didn’t work to her satisfaction, even after touch-ups. She has now erased the face and is re-thinking. Perhaps she’ll paint directly onto the end-table.
A quiet day, Sue’s homemade chicken soup for dinner, and at night we watched on BritBox a documentary about Peter O’Toole. The documentary is full of people our age and references to films we actually saw fifty or sixty years ago: Lawrence of Arabia, The Ruling Class, The Lion in Winter.
Back-blip.
