Why Don't You Sit on a Flower?
Very gracious Eastern Tiger Swallowtail let me up close with my macro lens. I even managed to get it to crawl onto my finger in the end, but I couldn't get the camera far enough back for a proper shot.
I've noticed that swallowtails often land on the ground. This one was 'drinking' moisture from the damp path. Very interesting, but it would have been a much better picture if it had settled on - oh, I don't know - a flower perhaps?
