Journies at home

the Cabanne perfected

We opted for simplicity today - or rather Nico did.  Personally I'd just go and buy a couple of parasols and stick them in the sand but Nico sends me off looking for long bits of drift wood and boat twine.

I let him do the master builder bit and take Bernie down to the waves.

The bags weigh heavy on the walk through the forest and over the dune.  Two litres of water for Bernie and two for us plus the heaviest book I could have chosen to read.

There are no board walks here and the only psychological way to get over the dune with relative ease is to focus on a part of your shadow in front of you and not look up at the distance left to go until the summit.

It's wild and empty and beautiful.
