South African bird

We haven't yet managed to get out most of our garden ornaments.  Just the lions, and when we planted up the patio pots, W sorted out the couple of the South African birds that were loose on their stakes, and planted them in the pots.  

I've been trying to get a photo with the plants, but all the photos were too busy.  

Today started rainy.  We had visitors for lunch, who brought their elderly dog; Jess at one stage was found snoozing on the concrete in front of the house in the continuing drizzle.  The patio door was open, but she seemed to prefer this to the rug in the garden room.

The day finally dried up about 2.30/3 ish.  

We ate rather more for lunch than we generally do - W made focaccia, hummus with crudités, and a variety of salads, and S brought a delicious apple crumble.  I haven't yet got any desire to eat this evening, but I have got my gin!
