Speckled Wood

This is a great thing to see in our garden! We have been planting trees for 30 years and had the very occasional Speckled Wood, but finally this month we have at least four, which almost qualifies as a population! Just a few other butterflies today, in the odd bit of sunshine. It’s definitely feeling colder now and Rob had a go at servicing the wood burning stove. The sweep is coming tomorrow and then I fear we may be needing it lit!
