Blue badge fun
Mum has a blue badge so that we can use disabled bays on the rare occasions we venture forth, usually to hospital appointments.
We realised last week that the badge was well out of date - several months to be precise.
Today I spent a long time filling in the form online for a new application. It took ages and ages. They wanted sight of hospital letters with diagnoses in them. We don't have any recent ones, because Mum has not needed new investigations.
Then we had fun with the mugshot for the blue badge. You need to look serious and to be recognisable. The specs had to go.
After the first few serious ones, I detected the beginning of a giggle, then a smile.
These photos reminded me of the Polyphotos for the 1950s. You had 48 images taken on one film plate. These were delivered like a contact sheet and you could then choose one or more to be enlarged.
I had some done as a baby and as a toddler. I remember that the studio was in Binns in Sunderland, but Mum is sure it was in High Street West. We can't agree, not that it matters. Did anyone else have those photos done?
