Derelict 'Dozer

This old bulldozer has been sitting in the field at the end of the road for years.  We're not sure who owns this property or how the bulldozer got there, but on close inspection, it is practically an antique and appears to have stopped working (or the driver did) soon after it got there There is a lot of tall grass and a pile of neglected branches and detritus that has been there since the fire offering good fuel for another one, but nobody seems to be doing anything about it.  nor are they cutting the thousands of burned skeletons of trees along the ridgeline of the hills around us.

Time seems to have gotten away from me today. Although it's been quite a pleasant day, I'm not really sure what I have accomplished, other than finishing a number of squares for the new quilt project. I'm still waiting for a fairly large shipment of fabrics to arrive before I can do much more.

We're off to Dana and Jim's for Sunday Supper. Always a pleasant evening....

John has been hand watering everything ever since he discovered a gusher in the irrigation system in the fire garden and had to turn off the system until he could locate a new part and fix it. Our irrigation system is both  extensive and old requiring constant monitoring for leaks. It would drive me crazy but John's engineering genes seem to kick in and he doesn't seem to mind. I don't think he trusts it much, hence the increased hand watering.
