NHM: Sensational Butterflies (2)

Better in large ("L").

I revisited the Sensational Butterflies exhibit in my lunch break today: I've posted a blip about it before (here), but went with a colleague who hadn't yet been, and was eager to visit it again anyway as the species of butterflies fluttering by changes throughout the year.

This is a common lime butterfly (Papilio demoleus) which I thought was rather beautiful. I'm always amazed by how different the upper and lower surfaces of many butterfly's wings are, so have uploaded another shot showing the upper surface of the open wings here.
