Flyng ears
Poodles have only one coat unlike most dog breeds which have two. Their hair is also naturally curly, which means than when it falls out it tends to remain trapped in the coat - giving them the false reputation for not shedding. To get the dead hair out you need to actively brush it out every couple of days. Poodle hair also naturally grows quite long, so it's advisable to cut it when you are brushing it. Anyhow the upshot is that they have a wonderfully soft and fluffy coat and their ears are just pure fluff... As you can see though when they run, their ears flap about quite a bit!
People think poodles (Caniche in French) are soppy lap dogs, mostly because they see the show cut dogs with their silly pom-pom hair cuts, or sadly little toy poodles that people have as fashion accessories. In reality they are general purpose hunting dogs, that are the ancestor of many hunting breeds, they are very athletic and highly trainable.
My mother-in-law's dog may be small, but given half a chance he'll chase, catch and kill rabbits. He is very smart and can solve problems and has both a good 3D view of the world and a memory. He can learn plenty of things after just one or two repeats and is very good at anticipating things based on experience of something similar.
He also likes, after a good hour of hard exercise, nothing better than curling up on the sofa with the rest of the pack....
