Early bird

I went up to the allotment early to retrieve the strimmer line and managed to re-fill the spool. What a fiddle! Anyway, did quite a bit of rough strimming. The sparrows were numerous but very flighty (this year's youngsters, I think) but I did see Bob hanging about and also a blue tit. Didn't think I'd got the latter in a photo, but.....   ;-)

The extra, for the record, is the current state of Bernard Street - the gas man has gone again, but he hasn't filled in the holes he dug. And in the far distance you can just make out some hi-viz jackets, where they are digging holes in the new, just-laid flagstones, seemingly far deeper than would be required for the erection of a bus shelter. The tramworks people would probably claim this to be all part of the snagging process.
