The flight of the heron

I decided to go down to the allotment this afternoon to lift our onions and do a bit of tidying up. The onions are pretty big but I suspect they won’t keep very well as they are rather thick at the neck.
Since it brightened up, I popped past Pitfour Lake where I saw two herons including this one taking off.
I hope I never tire of seeing herons flying.
