Day 6: Coastal Path without sea!
Between Pwllheli and Criccieth there is a lovely diversion inland (which we nearly didn't take) along old, rutted country lanes between beech, oak, ash, mountain ash and holly. Little used now other than for access to a few houses the three miles in their dappled shade could have been 100 years ago and were certainly the best part of what became a very long day's walk: some 16.29 miles! We lunched as we rejoined the shore beside the Afon Dwyfor, passed around the castle at Criccieth in early afternoon and arrived at Morfa Bychan beach satisfied with the 70+ miles we had achieved!
