Reflections from a Canal

The theme for our next camera club challenge is Reflections and Shadows, so I stopped off at one of my favourite Friday evening photographic spots on the way home from work, the Basingstoke Canal at Frimley Green, to see what I could find.

The water on the canal was like a mirror in some places, once one had waited for the ripples from ducks, geese and model boats to subside! The light was tricky though (too much contrast). In the end I decided on this shot, which if you think is slightly odd, then you may be right ... it is an inverted shot of the trees reflected in the water, with much some tweaking of saturation and colour.
