(242) Paradise Lost
A new railway line is being constructed in Fife to link the town of Leven with the main east coast railway and, in the name of progress, a popular right of way used for many years by walkers and cyclists will be cut off. Despite the valiant efforts of a local campaign group, Network Rail look set to close the crossing point on Doubledykes Road on the 31st of this month. I'm all in favour of expanding the railway network but not when it's at the expense of community access. The main blip shows a view from the south side of the new rail line, on what will become a dead-end path, accessible only from the south side of the line. The extra is a view at the crossing point. I also shot some video today, while I still had the chance. That can be found on YouTube here: https://youtu.be/vbFR4YwwVpY?si=F24tMLOd-XcWVPPn
