The Farmer’s Chair.

This particular chair has been with us for the best part of forty years. The antique dealer had purchased it from a farm roup or sale. Apparently the Farmer used this chair at the dining table.

It is an elegant chair, especially the turned pillar which supports the arm rest.

There is slight damage to the leg below, but it must have occurred many years before it became ours.

The cushion on the seat features several animals in a woodland scene. There is a rabbit, but it is almost hidden in the top right hand corner and obscured by the cushion above.

The cushion is a birthday present for Pat. Virtually every birthday featured a rabbit and many of her other presents incorporate a rabbit in some way or other.

Today, as we arrived home in the car a young wild rabbit walked across in front of us. Pat was delighted.

The Policies are gradually becoming home to a number of creatures, including red squirrels, wrens and rabbits. Deer usually pass through and jump over the stone wall.
