The Who

After the intel from my wife's visit yesterday, my son and I headed for the final of four concerts on the Sandringham Estate. We parked in the village next to where we used to live and walked in past the famous Norwich Gates, and got in efficiently, with some sleight of hand at security to get some food through - bonus. Got a space behind some of the straw bales knowing they wouldn't move and we'd then have a clear view of the stage - bonus. Went to the second merchandise stall which had no queues whereas the other was rammed - bonus. Weather was lovely and sunny - extra bonus. While Lightning Seeds were on (bland) I went and got food without a queue - bonus; toilets in the fairground area were empty whereas others had hundreds in queue - bonus. Richard Ashcroft was passionate and edgy and played some classic Verve songs, then it was the main event: The Who with an orchestra playing Tommy section, all the classics, then Quadrophenia and Baba O' Reilly to finish - great sound and visuals - orchestra were excellent and screens were very clear. Stuck to the left on exit and out and walked down quiet country road into the village as the chaos of cars in the car park for hours began to unfold.
