Super Blue Moon

A couple of hours gardening after work … trying to keep up with it and work on further variations on the theme of courgette. 
Caught a bit of Simon Rattle conducting Poulenc’s ‘Figure humaine’ set to the writings of Paul Éluard, none of which I’m afraid I’d ever heard of before. I can only imagine how moving it was to hear it first sung in London in 1945. I also hadn’t heard the anecdote about a Gestapo officer pointing to the painting ‘Guernica’ and asking Picasso if he had painted it, and Picasso saying, ‘No, you did’.
