Thousand Acre Fun
Charlie playing with his new cot toy: a Winnie the Pooh projector. He was very curious! As well as a projection on the ceiling there's also a front display that lights up when it plays one of the few 'happy tunes' for day time mode. I bought it with my birthday Amazon voucher yesterday, along with a new wall sticker I'm excited about. A chalkboard fireplace for his play room.
We headed over to Katrina's this afternoon. Charlie played next to Stanley (it'll be funny when they do start playing with each other!). He especially loved the toy in Stanley's cradle: a soft piano with the same Fisher Price character as his old beloved chair. He's definitely got the hang of pushing things to see if they make a sound or react.
We were lazily chatting away right up until I saw the clock then it was a mad scramble to get home because Mummy is going out tonight! Hurrah! Thankfully I made it home before Robin, but it was by seconds, just long enough for me to get my coat off! I was showered, dressed and ready to go in a record (for me) 15 minutes.
I kissed my boys goodbye and headed next door to 'call for' my neighbour Tim. We were going out to celebrate the completion of a massive project for us and the destination was a surprise - right up until we came out of London Bridge tube and looked up. We were having dinner at the Shard!
It was a fantastic evening catching up with everyone. It felt like I hadn't been away. I definitely didn't miss the stress I saw on my colleague Polly's face. But my cover was clearly enjoying it, so I feel less guilty about letting them know I'll be taking the full year of ;)
