THE DOCK MUSEUM, BARROW

A lovely day today.  Trying to find somewhere to go that wouldn't be heaving, so G and I plumped for The Dock Museum in Barrow as we hadn't been for a while.  I did of course think of CumbriaLass and Fletch whilst there and waved vaguely in their direction

There were a few people there but not too many and it was pleasant to be reminded of their exhibits and see a couple of new ones.  They also had an art exhibition on so we visited that too.  Art is very subjective of course, some were amazing, some good and some just not for me but all talented and such a variety of different genres.  Two of my favourites can be see in extras but for the life of me I can't remember the artists name.  The Lifeboat one has been donated by the artist to the RNLI and it is a stunning painting.

The exhibition do inspire me to try and be a bit different and try and take some photos a bit differently, one of them can also be see in extras - looking at G studying an exhibition between two gorgeous wooden benches. 

One of the fun things there at the moment is a series of black and white photos of various places from yesteryear and if you stand in a certain place it puts you in the picture too.  In extra you will see one of G, the photo is of a street in Greenock, a town in the Firth of the Clyde in Scotland of course.  G particularly wanted this photo because his Father was in the Merchant Navy there.

After a couple of hours around the exhibition we then went for a short walk along part of Channelside, where I took the main photo from before heading over to The Abbey House Hotel for lunch.

A lovely day and the weather was very pleasant too.
