It's all just a front

We had a very interesting visit to Newhailes House. A facilitating history to the building,  more info here. 

The house is only one room deep but seems huge from the front.  This, and many other features, were all about giving a false impression of wealth by the owner, to impress the local aristocracy who were potential legal clients (and marital matches for the kids!).
