Looking across Denburn Valley towards the backs of the buildings in Belmont Street. Mostly these are bars, some with outside terraces overlooking Union Terrace Gardens.

After the fall of Aberdeen Castle to the troops of Robert the Bruce, they chased the English soldiers from Belmont Street down to the valley below. I imagine it did not end well for them. The castle was then destroyed so the English would not be able to reoccupy it in future.

Instead for me an uneventful day. I was on my way to buy some coffee from MacBean's
