Ratatouille

It's been a pretty wet day and I didn't go anywhere.  A service engineer came to look at our washer /dryer, which has become a lot noisier recently, especially when tumble drying. He changed one part but it became even noisier, so he removed another part and said that needed replacing too. However he didn't have that part with him so he put everything back again, said we could use the machine for washing, and left.  However, when I tried to use the machine, the program stopped after about a minute and the end of the wash cycle message  appeared! It's a bit annoying that we've gone from having a noisy but working  washing machine to a non- functioning one. Of course, there are worse problems  elsewhere. 
This evening Martin made ratatouille which cheered us up.. 
Then I  had a 3way phone conversation with my sisters which was useful. We hope to  be together next week.
