Playing with Macro

No idea if I'll get out and about tonight with the weather so nasty in Edinburgh today. Heavy rain, thunder and lightning do not make good weather for flashing the Nikon about! Would love to do a good lightning shot but not prepared to get fried in the process of trying to get it from some high up vantage point overlooking the city!

So... put the macro lens on and had a little play about in the kitchen instead. Tried out some extension tubes too which worked ok. Extreme magnification though, the eye of a needle becomes huge using them, really hard to get some decent DoF too. However, they were not used for the shot above. I've been trying to capture a water drop for ages and this is the best so far. Imported into lightroom in RAW and colours played with from there.
