Absolute Zines!, Aylesford
I've decided to hit street photography on the head for a while (unless I spot something, of course!) as I just haven't seemed to be able to capture anything of note for quite a while and it was getting me down. Instead, I'm looking for images that have a strong graphic quality to them. Today's is a case in point - it's just a close up detail of sign where I cropped the lettering to create the shot.
The definition of a zine is that it's a self-published and non commercial so in a way you could say that blips are a digital version of that. Of course, old school zines were printed, often via a copy machine. I always remembered zines produced this way had a distinctive smell about them.
The title of today's blip is a play on some commentary I heard on a football match where Hearts had come back from seemingly impossible odds.(... "absolute scenes!") in a European play off match. It sounds much better when you say it in a Scottish accent!
