Antony and Zeke headed down to Birmingham to watch Aston Villa so those of us that remained arranged to meet friends at Woody’s and Ava came back for a sleepover. Said sleepover wasn’t entirely friction free - sad Eve is not always straightforward. But a bizarre and hysterical con flab on the landing at 11 dispelled any tension and I believe they were giggling when the boys eventually arrived home.

Gratefuls:

1. The children being thrilled by a trip round Costco;
2. No cooking;
3. Nice friends.
