My first of the summer

It showed me a glimpse of red as I arrived home yesterday afternoon but when I pulled open the curtains this morning, there it was - my very first poppy of the summer. Don't get me wrong - there will be lots more to come as the front garden is full of tight, green, furry buds. But this one is special, a pioneer, and as such it deserves to be immortalised as my blip for today.
