Straws

Now that plastic straws have been banned in the Netherlands, many people with disabilities run into a problem. If you can't lift a cup or glass independently, (long) straws were a godsend. The paper straws are not pleasant, because if they stand in a drink for a while, they become mushy. The metal straws are horrible when they hit your teeth. The silicone version is reasonable, but cleaning is a point. Many alternatives are also not bendable, and the long straws are simply not available in an alternative form. When these straws were banned in the Netherlands, it was said that the straws would be available as a medical device if necessary. Unfortunately this has not been arranged. The result: people try to order the straws abroad in groups.

We still have a huge stock for E: everyone who knows us and who still had straws has kept them for us, really so sweet! We can certainly go on for a few more years.

Less plastic? Please. No suitable alternative before starting a new rule? Bad.
