UTMB comes to town

Every year, the first feed station of the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc (UTMB) is in St Gervais. There is always a great turn out to cheer on the runners, and the atmosphere is fantastic. This year was no exception, and the sound of cow bells, cheering and clapping filled the air. A poor photo I know, but I was too busy cheering to do better. The runners cover 170km and climb 10,000m across three countries. They have 46 hours and 30 minutes to complete the course.
