Gloucester Day 2023
Rode into town (I sound like a cowboy!) as the city was celebrating 'Gloucester Day'.
Our very renowned MP, Richard Graham, changed the date of this event, from previous years, so that it not only celebrates Gloucester's very troubled time during 'The Siege of Gloucester', which took place in 1643 during the Civil War, but also starts the History fortnight when many events are taking place showcasing the city's very varied history, including my favourite bit with King Alfred's warrior daughter Aethelflaed, which I've mentioned in past blips.
Bumped into an old friend, as you can see bottom left, but also a real old friend in the Extra. Bill and his wife Carol. We (Bill and I) served In Oman in the 60's.
