Water Lily and tiny fly

A beautiful day ….. cloudless blue sky and lovely warm sunshine. I hadn’t planned to go to Pollok this morning but as it was so nice I let the car take me there!

There used to be quite a number of Water Lilies in the wee pond in Pollok but now there is only one. I had to move a number of leaves aside to find this water lily. It was so well hidden from the warm  sunshine that the petals, apart from the outer layer, are still tightly closed.
