The Sandy Show
Thank you for hosting Silly Saturday for September 60plus, in memory of Admirer. Somehow I’ve had my arm twisted to host for October. That will be fun ;-)
My day today started with my feet first pedicure. Feel much better for some attention!
Then dog walk and got the washing out, stuff like that.
After lunch I went to see The Sandy Show. I put an entry in this year, to the open class photography but didn’t win, or even get a mention…. Will maybe try and sort it out a bit earlier next year. I only decided last week and it was all a bit of a rush. Anyway, it only cost 50p to enter. Although I spent £5 on raffle tickets when I was there.
On the way back to the car, the adjacent Baptist Church had their doors open, The Sandy Historical Research Society had an open day. Well why not, I thought. By the time I was in the door and chatting to the two people on the desk, they’d already persuaded me to buy raffle tickets there too. And asked if I was a member… no? Two pound entry fee then. Difficult to back out the door at this point.
Then there was a somewhat offhand conversation with one of the committee (note the tone of my voice here) about taking pictures of their various displays. I asked if I could buy a copy of one, or just take a photo for my own purposes. But she was adamant about copyright issues and the whole point is to encourage membership of the society…. Blah blah blah.
Fine, I get that. I agree about the potential copyright issues. It’s just the way she said it.
Anyway. I got my blip. My neighbour Lou got first prize for the wonkiest vegetable.
