A Bigger Splash
We're enjoying a spate of wonderful weather at the moment and it looks like it might last for another few days. We were up bright and early and off to the Mizen to pick up a projector for a forthcoming talk. We hadn't met the people who were lending it to us before and had a very enjoyable coffee in their remote and beautiful homestead. There were animals everywhere including a dozen rescue rabbits and nine rescue guinea pigs! Separate to the donkeys, sheep, cats, dogs and chickens!
Back home we worked hard in the garden until it got too hot - Himself strimming and me ripping out gorse.
Then we went down to the pier for it was the Ahakista Open Swim Challenge - two challenges in fact - a 500m swim or a swim around the island and back - 2km (RP1 - we were looking out for you!). My blip is the serious crew leaping in with anticipation. Big crowds for both events and lots of onlookers. The first man home from the 2km swim looked as fresh as a daisy after he'd finished, way ahead of everyone else. We left before the last people came in which was a bit rude. Hope they're back by now,
I'm tagging this for Silly Saturday but impressive silliness here.
