Only visiting

Kids in the paddling pool, the neighbours are playing Cotton eye Joe really loud and David is playing the keyboard. It all feels a bit too strange today. Maybe it's just my head........?

Grandad got the kids tickets for Uphall Station Gala Day so off we went.

No.1 daughter got first place in the visitors' race so she was very happy with herself. I'm still not sure who she gets all that competitive stuff off but she looked like a girl on a mission on that starting line. Oh wait! I think she gets it from me:)

I remember winning many a race over the years at that Gala Day. It always feels a bit wrong putting my kids in the visitors' races, when actually, it was the village I grew up in for most of my life. Oh well, rules are rules, I suppose.
