Guildford Castle
I met three former NHS colleagues and friends for lunch in Guildford today. One I've known since we worked together at Hammersmith Hospital and she became a colleague again when we both led Trusts in North West Surrey. It wasn't a lunch for reminiscing though as there was a lot of current and recent news to catch up on. We ate at The March Hare which is next to the Castle Grounds. The photo shows the Castle Keep which is all that is left of the castle that was erected following the Norman Conquest in 1066. I'm not sure what the 100 years refers to in the planting display but the nearby Bowls Club celebrated its centenary this year. The Guildford War Memorial is also close by.
