Not long now........

We had expected the House Martins to fledge a few days ago.  In fact one morning there was such a swirl of birds outside the window we thought they had fledged, but later we heard them in the nest.

Today I went out into the garden with blip in mind.  One of the youngsters was hanging head and shoulders out of the nest.  I thought it was about to fly, but no it was waiting for a parent to feed it.  I changed the lens ( same old story wrong lens on camera) and waited.  On some visits, the parents fed them sometimes they just "buzzed" the nest.  I think they may have been trying to tempt the youngsters out,  By using a lot of frames on burst I managed to get this shot.
