Whitby
Another lovely day in sunny Yorkshire.
We took the bus ten miles down the coast to Whitby. We wandered around the little streets of the older part of the town looking at shops selling Jet (a type of fossilised bark of a tree)jewellery, and a lovely place selling fish and dressed crab.
We walked up lots of steps to Whitby Abbey in the main photo. It was quite busy, but the late summer light on the ancient stones was beautiful.
After that we went for fish and chips at Papas, which was recommended to us by a group of local men who were out walking to whom we got talking while waiting for the bus. Good advice chaps!
I bought a little Jet pendant to fit on a choker then purchased some crab for tonight’s meal.
We walked to the end of the jetty and it was very warm, then we got the bus back to where we’re staying.
We really liked Whitby
Extra , the view at the end of the harbour wall.
