Yellow admiral butterfly

This attractive little flyer is endemic to Australia, New Zealand, Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island. I believe this particular specimen is asleep. It stayed on its branch for a long time which was good for getting a shot of its gorgeous patterns, on one side. Earlier it was flitting about like a mad thing, and even at a ridiculously fast shutter speed a clear shot was not to be had. See my effort in the extra, where it looks like an admiral of a fleet of pink flowers, waving about in a blue sky-sea.

Thanks for hosting JDO.
